Alabama State Senator Roger Bedford District 6 vows to keep Conservative Ideals and Values

Roger Bedford knows that job creation is the number one priority of most Alabamians.  Senator Bedford has worked tirelessly in attracting new industries to his district.  Senator Bedford also knows the importance of maintaining existing business and has supported small business through his efforts to provide tax incentives to companies, while fighting any tax increases that hurt growth. 

Senator Bedford has secured millions of dollars for industrial parks throughout the cities and counties that he represents.  Many of these parks are industry ready to attract suppliers for the East Mississippi Toyota plant that will open in 2011 and other 21^st Century companies bringing good paying jobs to the area.    
 
Seniors
 
Senator Bedford has dedicated his tenure to serving those in need.  Protecting our seniors has been a top priority for him while in office.  Senator Bedford founded the Alabama SenioRx Program, which just celebrated 10 years of serving seniors throughout Alabama.  Since its inception, SenioRx has served more than 40,000 seniors, providing more than $200 million in free prescriptions.

Senator Bedford also has been instrumental in securing funding for building and improving senior centers throughout his area and continues to work to prioritize the budget in order to fund important programs such as meals-on-wheels, coordinated transportation, and other important programs that protect our seniors.
 
Immigration
 
Senator Bedford believes that we must do everything we can to stop illegal immigration in Alabama and this country.  Senator Bedford believes that no amnesty should be given to illegal immigrants and that all efforts should be made to deport anyone caught in this state illegally.  Senator Bedford believes that if immigrants legally migrate into this state, they must learn the English language and obey all laws.  Companies that knowingly hire illegal immigrants should be punished. 
 
Taxes

Senator Bedford has been instrumental in ensuring that the people of Alabama pay the lowest taxes in the nation and will continue to work to fight any proposals to increase taxes on the back of Alabamians.  Alabama is going through some very difficult times financially, raising taxes is not the answer and Senator Bedford will make sure that he stands up for the taxpayers of this state against any efforts to increase taxes.
